Explore Horicon’s Hidden History
Delve into the rich tapestry of Horicon’s past, uncovering stories that shaped the community and its people. Join us in celebrating local history through engaging narratives and archival insights.
Not sure where to start? Pick something that sounds interesting and just dive in — that’s how Carl does it, too. Browse the podcast episodes, explore the Horicon history section, or wander through the research and writing pages until something grabs your attention. History has a funny way of pulling you in when you least expect it.
The best part about forgotten history is that there’s always more of it. One story leads to another, one episode sends you down a rabbit hole, and suddenly you’re three cups of coffee deep and completely hooked on something that happened in a small Wisconsin town a century ago.
Fair warning though — rabbit holes are real around here. You might start reading about a local election scandal and end up completely absorbed in a horse theft case from 1887. You might follow one story so deep it spins you around entirely and sends you sprinting after something else altogether. That’s not a bug, that’s the whole feature. Welcome to the club.
